Football: Castrol earn a point in tough draw at Christleton

A DOUR division one match ended in a draw between Christleton and Castrol Social on Saturday.

Paul Fraser and Paul Hollifield scored a goal each for Christleton while Stuart Carroll bagged a brace for Castrol.

Ellesmere Port enjoyed an emphatic 4-1 defeat of Blacon YC thanks to goals from Ben Harvey, Nathan Mapletoft, Peter McNulty and Peter Charles. James Dean hit a consolation strike for Blacon YC who, despite defeat, are off the bottom following a points deduction to Halton.

Maghull put the brakes on Vauxhall Motors Reserves as they won 4-1 courtesy of goals from Donaghue (2), Stamper and Stafford. John Bruns hit the lone for Vauxhall.

In Division Two, Grange Athletic had a resounding victory over Heswall Reserves, winning 3-0 with a goal each from Iain Forster, Carl Ngiam and Ian Armstrong.

Capenhurst Villa were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Willaston. Alan Locke scored for Capenhurst while James Clare hit the reply for Willaston.
