Distance rules Little out of Leeds coaching role

FORMER Tranmere manager Brian Little says he has turned down a coaching role with Leeds United.

The 55-year-old was invited to join the staff at Elland Road by manager Simon Grayson, who worked with Little during his time at Leicester City in the 1990s.

Little, Rovers manager between 2003 and 2006, said: “Simon has spoken to me, but having a young family means the location and the travelling involved isn’t ideal for me.

“I’d have loved to work with Simon Grayson and I think he has the potential to become a great manager.”

Little has been out of work since leaving Wrexham in September 2008. He added: “I have a young family in the midlands so I think it suits me to be around there at the moment.

“Going to Leeds would involve a 240-mile round trip every day, which just isn’t ideal.”
