RETROSPECTIVE approval was sought for a car wash and valeting centre at commercial premises in the town centre.
Applicant Roger Beech told planning officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council the hand wash and valeting service would be in addition to the DIY business, timber workshop and office at RPV Trading on Coronation Road.
It would use a side access and the wash would operate in bays at the rear of the building.
As an option, cars could possibly leave through the warehouse.
The proposed hours were 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 4pm on Saturday.
Sunday opening would be 9am to 2pm.
No objections were raised by the highway authority.
There were no comments from environmental protection officers or as a result of the application being advertised.
The wash would not have a detrimental effect on nearby properties which include a number of council buildings, planners believed.
The proposed times were acceptable.
The application was recommended for approval and the borough council agreed retrospective permission could be granted.
