BLUE Planet Aquarium’s Aquatheatre was transformed into a temporary music venue as part of a new storyline for TV soap Hollyoaks.
The show’s resident band Daytona Lights performed a set in front of the Cheshire Oaks aquarium’s giant underwater window.
As well as the band, seven other cast members, including Danny Mac, who plays Dodger Savage, Abi Phillips, who plays Liberty Savage, and Joe Tracini, who plays Dennis Savage, were involved in filming at The Blue Planet.
Rebecca Wade of the aquarium said: “As far as I’m aware this is the first time we have had a band actually perform here at the aquarium and it was really interesting watching the crews setting up and filming the various scenes.
“Obviously we’re not allowed to give away any of the plot lines but they did film a number of scenes at a variety of different locations throughout the aquarium and everyone seemed very pleased with the end results.
“It was great to be able to play host to such a well-loved soap opera which is filmed so locally to us.
“Hollyoaks have filmed here in the past but this is the first time they have done such a major storyline with us and it’s also a great showcase for the aquarium and its displays.”
The scenes filmed at the aquarium are due to be broadcast on Channel 4 later in the year.
