Robbers storm Ellesmere Port newsagents and take cash

DETECTIVES are appealing for information following a robbery at a newsagents in Ellesmere Port.

Two men stormed the McColl’s on Station Road, Little Sutton, making off with bags of cash.

At about 11pm on Tuesday, January 17, the men demanded access to the contents of the safe and to the office quarters.

When they were unable to open the safe, the men stole bags of cash and fled.

Two members of staff inside the store, who were shaken but unharmed during the incident, raised the alarm and police attended the scene.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone in the area at the time who may have seen someone behaving suspiciously or anyone who can assist the investigation in any way.
