Ellesmere Port man Leslie Davenport sentenced for assault

A 39-YEAR-OLD man was given a 14 week suspended sentence for assaulting a woman.

Leslie Davenport, 39, of Pooltown Road, Ellesmere Port, admitted the assault at a hearing at Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston Magistrates Court on June 2, after previously denying the offence.

Davenport was given a 14 week sentence, suspended for 18 months, and a period of 18 months supervision.

He was also ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months and pay £450 towards prosecution costs. No compensation was ordered because the parties have reconciled.
