Ellesmere Port schoolchildren take part in Walk to School Week
PUPILS of schools across Elles- mere Port have taken part in the annual Walk to School Week.
National charity Living Streets runs the highly successful campaign, which encourages more than two million children, parents and teachers to leave their cars at home and walk to school.
Taking part in the town were Westminster, The Acorns, William Stockton and Parklands, as well as Elton Primary pupils, who donned green to mark the eco-friendly initiative.
They were supported by Ellesmere Port Fire Station, whose crews handed out junior Highway Code booklets and fire safety leaflets.
Firefighter Clare Page said: “White Watch was pleased to be able to promote general road safety to the schoolchildren, and, of course, encourage everyone – children and adults alike – to enjoy the health and environmental benefits of walking to school.”
