Firm supports guide dog

AN ADORABLE black Labrador puppy took centre stage during his recent visit to an Ellesmere Port firm.

The 12-week-old pooch met employees at Stanley Staff in Cambridge Road, which is raising funds for him to complete guide dog training.

Every year the company nominate a charity to support and for 2008 chose The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

During the past 12 months staff have had a dress down Friday and organised various other monthly fundraising events to donate money to the charity.

The firm also sponsored a guide dog puppy who, unsurprisingly, is called Stanley.

He was born on August 29 and was one of a litter of eight.

Stanley has now been assigned to a puppy walker and is getting used to wearing his collar and lead, and going for gentle walks in the area.

Recruitment consultant Ann Shenton said: “He visited the office for the first time, meeting all the staff who will continue to raise funds for him to complete his puppy walking, and eventually becoming a fully trained guide dog.

“As usual anything with four legs and fur was enough to distract the staff, it’s up to you to decide who is having the most fun!”
