Groovy movers look back

MORE than 90 youngsters from a dance group showcased their moves and wowed a full house at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall.

Dance Through The Decades, held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, was a tribute to some of the biggest dance tracks from the last 40 years and attracted more than 800 people over the three nights.

The dancers, aged five-18, are members of the First Footers Dance Troupe.

First Footers Dance founder Gail Rowe, who produced and choreo- graphed the show, said: “The hard work and dedication of the young people definitely paid off as everyone involved really enjoyed the experience and produced a fantastic show.

“I would like to thank every member of the group for being a credit to me, themselves and the group and for making Dance Through The Decades such a huge success.”

The show consisted of jazz, street dance, hip hop, modern and contempory routines featuring music from the Rolling Stones, MC Hammer, Britney Spears and Rihanna.

Gail added: “Preparations for the next First Footers Dance show will begin soon and new members are always welcome to come and join in.”

If you would like to become a First Footer, classes are held from Monday-Thursday in the dance studio at Stanney Oaks leisure centre.
